My story, “Fresh Shoots,” is live at Bewildering Stories. According to the reader’s guide, the story “resurrects the time-honored science fiction topic of immortality and poses some questions, such as: Is a bus coming? Shall I have a baby or get a life?” Or a cat. I’m not sure where the bus comes into the story, though. Maybe the characters are still waiting for it.
Pedestal
My story, “Chayka,” will appear in the August issue of The Pedestal Magazine.
It’s a special flash fiction issue. Don’t think it goes live until mid-to-late August, though. Subs are open until August 14.
AlienSkin Magazine
“The Music of the Numbers” will appear in the Oct/Nov issue of AlienSkin.
Feature Story
“The White Shirt” will be the editor’s Feature Story in the next Flash Me Magazine, which will be online July 31st.
Gotham Writers Workshop
My story, “Coupling,” was runner-up in the Gotham Writers Workshop contest. First place was a $500 Gotham class. So close. I really wanted a free class. (Gotham is very good.) I did win a book, though. And publication.
The winning story was great, as was the other runner-up by fellow flash fiction workshopper, Renee Holland Davidson.
